Everyone locally will remember the catastrophic events of the hotel’s opening night when gale force winds swept through the region and a tornado wrapped itself around the new hotel and ripped off the roof.

TORNADO COCKTAILS ALL ROUND AT THE RE-OPENING OF DAYS INN HOTEL, HAVERHILL

On Monday 30th April the Days Inn hotel Haverhill opened its doors to guests and local people who were invited to celebrate its re-opening, exactly three months after a freak tornado ripped through Haverhill, taking the roof off the newly opened premises.

HID RELOCATES TO BIGGER FACILITIES IN HAVERHILL

Carisbrooke, the developer of the Haverhill Business Park, has submitted a planning application to build a 37,000 sq ft unit for HID Corporation, the premier manufacturer of contactless access control cards and readers for the security industry, on the Haverhill Business Park, Haverhill.

The single unit will comprise approximately 15,000 sq ft of air-conditioned offices and 22,000 sq ft of production and warehousing space; it will be completed and ready for occupation by late 2007.

Donna Revell, General Manager at the soon to open Days Inn Haverhill, presented a cheque for £30 to Miss Olwen Powell, Headmistress at Clements County Primary School, following a competition to name the hotel’s breakfast restaurant and the conference suite.

BUSINESS PARK GIVEN GREEN LIGHT FOR NEW OFFICE DEVELOPMENT
Carisbrooke Suon, the developer of the Haverhill Business Park, has been granted planning consent to build seven new office units on the business park.

The office development, to be called Boudicca Court, comprises seven new office units measuring from 1,717 sq ft to 16,100 sq ft, and will be available from mid 2007 to buy or to let.

General Manager appointed for Days Inn Haverhill
Alder Hospitality Management has announced the appointment of Donna Revell as General Manager of the Days Inn at the Haverhill Business Park
.

Donna starts her role as of the 1st September and will be working hard to recruit staff and get the hotel ready for the opening in December 2006.

Electricity Power Lines
Go Underground
Unsightly electricity power lines are to be buried underground at the Haverhill Business Park following an agreement between the developer, Carisbrooke Suon and EDF Energy. Work to underground the 33,000 volt overhead power lines, that cross the Haverhill Business Park, will start later in the year and during this time power will be supplied to the local community as normal, with no interruption anticipated

Rachel Yelland Wins Drawing Competition
Local school girl Rachel Yelland, age 11 of Hundon, has won herself £20.00 of WH Smith tokens in a drawing competition with the Echo and the Haverhill Business Park.
Since naming its new office development Boudicca Court, after the ancient warrior queen who defended the East of England against the Romans, the Haverhill Business Park asked local children to draw a picture of what they imagine Boudicca to look like.
